Having looked at the different blogging tools, I think Blogger is still the easiest to use. For me there are a number of advantages to using Blogger over the other options.
Advantages:
-Works with logins that our students currently use for all other web tools
-Works just like a word processor
-Works well with the existing Google infrastructure ie Google Classroom
-Most other blogs use WordPress which tends to be a clunky platform that is designed more for web designers than average users, whereas Blogger is very easy to use.
Disadvantages
- Not as many templates as WordPress based bloggers. This can make it less engaging to students.
- Not as many features, can be a little more limited
Other bloggers
I haven't been in the habit of reading other teachers blogs as much as I should. This is actually one of my learning goals for my TPA year next year. I think it really is the best way to see what else is going on in the education community.
